Human Resources Generalist - Compensation and Pay Equity

Chicago or Lisle, IL (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

Patrick Engineering, A RINA company, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our North America HR team and contribute to the success of our global company. The HR Generalist will play a key role in providing compensation analysis and pay equity including salary benchmarking, pay structure design, and ensuring pay equity across the organization. The ideal candidate will also be supportive in aiding other members of the HR team with benefits, employee relations, payroll and talent development as needed.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Conduct comprehensive compensation analyses to ensure competitiveness in the market and alignment with organizational goals and budget.
  • Evaluate job roles and responsibilities to determine appropriate salary ranges and pay structures.
  • Partner with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to establish competitive and equitable compensation packages for new hires and promotions.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions and salary ranges to reflect changes in job market and organizational needs.
  • Lead pay equity analyses to identify and address any disparities based on gender, race, or other protected characteristics.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing compensation practices, including FLSA and pay equity.
  • Act as a liaison to the Global Human Resources teams on matters of job descriptions, compensation, and equity.
  • Perform HRIS data entry and leverage HRIS and other systems to ensure data is accurate and the changes are approved and processed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on compensation analysis and pay equity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
  • Proficiency in compensation analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the team.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion with a desire to promote fairness and transparency in compensation practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant HR labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency working in and pulling data from an HRIS preferred.
  • Experience in benefits administration and payroll processes is a plus.

Additional Preferences

  • 5% travel may be required based upon business needs.
