As they continue to expand, they are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team.
Position Overview: They are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist with a background in the construction industry to manage all aspects of accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payments
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues
Review subcontractor invoices, lien releases, and waivers to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and regulations
Collaborate with project managers and procurement team to verify purchase orders, receipts, and contract terms
Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions
Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounts payable functions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
2+ years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry
Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and processes
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
