Job Description:

Our client is a for profit organization. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they have successfully delivered numerous projects of varying scale and complexity. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team.



Position Overview: They are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist with a background in the construction industry to manage all aspects of accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.



Responsibilities:



  • Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payments

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues

  • Review subcontractor invoices, lien releases, and waivers to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and regulations

  • Collaborate with project managers and procurement team to verify purchase orders, receipts, and contract terms

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions

  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounts payable functions


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry

  • Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and processes

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
