Position Summary:
The Baker Institute is seeking a research scholar to develop a research agenda examining Mexico's economy, including economic trends and impacts on U.S.-Mexico relations as well as other emerging issues pertaining to trade and economic integration between the two nations. Under the supervision of the director of the institute's Center for the United States and Mexico, the research agenda of the research scholar will also include an examination of the economic impact of Mexicans residing in the U.S. (and the larger immigrant community) on the U.S. economy; as well as issues such as remittances and their impact on the Mexican economy.
Founded in 1993, the Baker Institute for Public Policy has established itself as one of the premier nonpartisan public policy think tanks in the country. As an integral part of Rice University, the Baker Institute has a strong track record of achievement based on the work of its fellows, scholars, Rice faculty scholars and staff. The Institute collaborates with experts from academia, government, the media, business, and nongovernmental and private organizations.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. *Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
