Job Description Summary
The Biospecimen Project Manger (BPM) is a full-time staff member within the Basser Center for BRCA who will be responsible for the management of several biospecimen-based clinical studies at the Basser Center for BRCA. Basser biospecimen projects include, but are not limited to, annual plasma/serum banking, microbiome collections, tissue/surgical collections. The Basser Center research portfolio is dynamic and the BPM will be utilized across multiple research protocols. Responsibility includes integrating data from multiple sites/sources, identifying cohorts to match eligibility, communicate requests to appropriate lab and complete required distribution requests. Working closely with the Associate Director of Research, the BPM will track enrollment, sample collections and distributions. They will be responsible for modifying IRB protocols when needed and providing updated enrollment numbers for annual reporting to the IRB, CTSRMC, and outside funders. The BPM must be highly organized, able to multi-task efficiently, and able to prioritize projects as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Qualifications should clearly indicate those that are required and those that are preferred.)
BA/BS in a scientific or related field, and 3-5 years experience in health research is required. A candidate with a master-degree and 2-3 years' experience in health research preferred; Experience in research management and laboratory inventory systems preferred; The individual will function independently primarily and must be comfortable communicating with multiple stakeholders (research coordinators, laboratory staff, outside collaborators). The position reports directly to the Associate Director of Research at the Basser Center for BRCA.
