Purpose of the Position:

Under the direction of the Food Service Manager, directs all activities with accountability for the back of the house operation to include but not limited to: Ordering food and equipment, scheduling, training, assigning jobs, food preparation to include actually cooking food and reviewing work performances of all production staff employees.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:



  • Ability to read and write.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Knowledge of all types of cooking methods by reading and converting recipes.

  • Knowledge of all kitchen equipment.

  • Good organizational skills, ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Ability to communicate in writing or verbally to both supervisors and subordinates.

  • Position will be exposed to temperature extremes and dangerous equipment, tools and machinery.

  • Position will be exposed to slippery footing and congested work areas.

  • Strong supervisory skills and high volume production experience.


Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :


Education:


  • Must have food service sanitation certification (ServSafe) or equivalent food safety certification. High school graduate or equivalent.





Experience:

  • Experience with food service management to include directing an entire kitchen staff of cooks, prep cooks, salad and dessert production.
