Your Opportunity:

The Herff Jones Quality team is looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team in Champaign, IL.

This is a Regular Fulltime position with benefit eligibility including, medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), paid time off, and additional voluntary benefits.

Shift: Standard shift is 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime will occur on Saturdays based on customer demand and production goals.

Hours fluctuate to ten- and twelve-hour days if needed during peak season including Saturdays and Sundays if necessary due to customer demand. Seasons vary between January through end of May.

Here's How You'll Make an Impact:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for reviewing and inspecting graduation product for quality errors and following the proper processes and procedures when errors occur during inspection. A strong focus on detail and a balance of priorities will be key to operating successfully in the role. Flexibility and a willingness to jump right in are crucial to success in this role. We need a go getter who is eager to learn new things and own their piece of the team goal.

What We Want You to Accomplish:

First 30 Days:


  • Understand the quality standards within each department supported.
  • Work with production and support staff on identifying and resolving quality issues.

First 60 days:


  • Ability to conduct product movements and transacting inside of Oracle.

First 90 Days:


  • Drive positive suggestions to improve quality in production operations.

What You'll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:


  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Notify Group Lead of any issues that arise during the shift.
  • Notify supervisor of any safety concerns or quality issues.
  • Inspects product in the primary inspection areas to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Responsible for ensuring all product meets all quality specifications.
  • Verify product description to ensure that the order matches the descriptions on the order forms.
  • Responsible for reading and identifying information located on the order forms.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Table:


  • Highschool or GED required.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Demonstrated prior success in a quality role.
  • Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization.
  • Growth mindset in learning new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually.
  • Proven ability succeeding in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
  • Multiple examples of going above and beyond to help the team achieve a goal.
  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Activities:

Daily activity includes but is not limited to:


  • Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking.
  • Reading, communication, simple math.
  • Standing on a fatigue mat in a specific area throughout an 8 hour+ shift.
  • Be able to regularly move up to 50lbs.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above.
