Under direction of the Manager of PET Nuclear Pharmacy and the Manager of Single Photon, the Radiology Pharmacy Technician provides a variety of services to support the safe and efficient production and use of PET and single photon radioactive drugs for research and clinical diagnostic use. Assists nuclear pharmacists and radiochemists in all aspects of the day to day operation of both nuclear pharmacies and radiopharmaceutical production facility operating under cGMP and USP825, including radiochemical production area, analytical laboratory and clean room.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: .
Duties in the Nuclear Pharmacy and PET Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility including but not limited to:
• Under direction of the nuclear pharmacists will assist in the aseptic preparation of radiopharmaceuticals in a cGMP clean room environment.
• Preparation of sterile filtration assemblies
• Environmental monitoring of aseptic processes
• Inoculation of sterility media
• Assists nuclear pharmacists in maintenance of cGMP clean room and production facility.
• Assists nuclear pharmacists in the environmental and radiological monitoring of the clean room, production area and quality control lab
• Assists nuclear pharmacists and radiochemists in the production of radiopharmaceuticals:
• Cleaning of automated radiochemistry synthesis units
• Maintenance of automated radiochemistry synthesis units
• Operation of automated radiochemistry synthesis units
• Assists nuclear pharmacists and radiochemists in quality control of radiopharmaceuticals
• Oversight of stock supplies (monitoring and replenishment)
• Packaging of radiopharmaceuticals for transport
Qualifications
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Understanding of universal precautions and infection control.
Effective interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work in high-pressure situations.
Knowledge of aseptic technique.

PTCB or ExCPT
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: One year experience in aseptic preparation and clean rooms

Experience in the handling of radioactive materials
