Job Description Summary

Responsible for providing data analysis for the Consumer Lending division. Collaborates across the division and organization with business owners and of data focused positions to identify and prioritize data analysis efforts. Collects, integrates, cleans and refines data. Conducts relevant data analysis, utilizing Consumer Lending related data, and presents findings in user-friendly reports and dashboards. Makes data based recommendations for improvements to consumer lending products and services.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develops data analysis plans based on project requirements and decision making utilizing wide sources of data, including, but not limited to; member behavior, external data sources, general consumer behavior and internal data.


  • Conducts various analysis and research on Consumer Lending operations, including but not limited to profitability, production scorecards, delinquency and recovery rates. Analyzes opportunities and outcomes and utilizes data to measure and forecast for future potential products and/or services.


  • Reliably and accurately mines data from multiple sources across the Consumer Lending function including collections software, lending software, internal databases, core member systems and external data.


  • Assists in managing and designing the reporting environment for large data-sets, including data sources, security, and metadata. Develop a structure with replicable models to ensure efficiency and consistency of data analysis.


  • Research to identify differences between actual and budgeted activity for the Consumer Business Unit, to include loan origination and delinquent / charge off accounts. Creates forecasting to include unit budget, delinquency and roll-rates


  • Supports initiatives for data integrity and normalization. Assesses data cleanliness, ensuring accuracy, completeness, reliability, relevance and timeliness. Creates reports, visualizations and dashboards to answer business questions.


  • Identifies and maximizes opportunities to utilize computer systems and resources to collect data regarding services or program business processes, utilizing internal and external data sources, integrated data consolidation platforms and data visualization software.


  • Manages project deadlines and ensures that assigned work is completed on time and within budget. Actively drives the daily operations of project tracking, scheduling, and information sharing for a high volume and broad variety of projects.


  • Works cross functionally with Data Science, and other areas, to develop shared solutions and identify and solve where inconsistencies are identified, to enhance the data warehouse, and to include responsibility for input files related to Consumer Lending.


  • Processes confidential data and information according to strict guidelines, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.


  • Completes all required training programs to maintain a current knowledge applicable to assigned duties and responsibilities, including regulatory compliance requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Required - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Data Science, Business Automation, Analytics or closely related field.

Experience Requirement


  • Required - 1 Year - Responsible business domain experience in data analytics - analytical experience in consumer finance or lending preferred.


  • Required - 1 Year - Experience with various data/analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Data Lake, PowerBI, Incorta, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)


  • Preferred - Experience with programming languages,(e.g. Python, Scala) for data cleaning and data analysis.


  • Preferred - Working knowledge on visualization tools like Google Data Studio.


  • Preferred - Understanding of A/B testing and performance optimization.


SKILLS/ABILITIES


  • Effectively apply internal/external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.


  • Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions.


  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.


  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large data sets, with a driving curiosity to identify, formulate, and solve problems.


  • Comfortable deriving business implications from data/analyses and making recommendations for business action--even in the absence of complete information.


  • Desire and ability to continuously learn new analytical methods and tools in order to have increasing impact on business results.


  • Strong sense for clean visual design and ability to create response-driven creative material.


  • Provide guidance in the resolution of complex problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience within areas of responsibility.


  • Promote and foster excellent member service and teamwork throughout department in a collaborative and goal-oriented environment


  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.


  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.


  • Set priorities and manage one’s own time effectively.
