Job Description:

Under the direction of the Administrative Director, independently responsible for general management; policy and program development and implementation; and personnel planning, staffing and supervision for the International Patient Center. Works with physicians, nurse leaders, providers, administrators, and other staff members across the hospital to ensure a quality-based, customer-oriented experience for international patients. Possesses a thorough knowledge of current hospital policies and procedures. Is culturally savvy with significant international experience and strong judgment in working with staff, patients, physicians, and governments from around the world. Displays a high degree of initiative and independent judgment, collaborates closely with leadership to continually assess and direct a wide range of issues, including operational, personnel and financial management, facilities and systems issues, programmatic development, long-range planning and project development. Works in collaboration with leadership colleagues across the department and hospital to consolidate and coordinate similar activities and functions.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.


Financial Responsibilities


• Develops pertinent productivity measures and management information to monitor and evaluate departmental performance. Prepares and presents various reports, cost analyses and budget justification as needed.


• Monitors FTEs and resources.


• Assists in developing and monitoring budgets, contracts and rental agreements, capital equipment and acquisition recommendations and financial statements. Monitors resource utilization and takes measures to improve utilization


• Provides direct supervision to and is responsible for the conduct, operations, and results of staff in designated areas. Coordinates with Human Resources for the interviewing, hiring, training, and disciplining of personnel. Assigns and prioritizes workloads; evaluates and standardizes office procedures and effectively troubleshoots and resolves issues as they arise. Ensures that IPC and GPS leadership both clinical and administrative are apprised of issues related to support staff.


• Reviews salary and wage issues. Evaluates performance of personnel. Provides corrective action as necessary; Ensures that all performance evaluations are performed in a timely manner and in compliance with hospital expectations.


• Provides leadership and mentoring for staff. Supports personnel in expanding their role within the department as applicable. Works closely with Physicians and/or Department Administrators to set standards, goals and motivate staff; recognizes and rewards accomplishments.



Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree / Degree Candidate in business administration, health care administration, or related field preferred.


EXPERIENCE: Specify minimum creditable years of experience and clearly indicate if preferred or required


• Minimum 7 years relevant healthcare experience.


• Prior supervisory experience with administrative and/or clinical support staff preferred.


• Prior experience working with providers in a managerial capacity preferred.
