Job Description:

Child Care Center Kitchen Support position (dishwasher/prep cook)
Assist in preparing attractive and nutritionally balanced meals and snacks that taste good to children.Ensure food is cooked and served appropriate to the age and development for each age group.Provide children with food allergies appropriate food and maintain proper systems including proper preparation to avoid cross-contamination, labeling, plating, and serving.Communicate with Chef to provide an efficient functioning food program.Ensure food supplies are properly stored and adhere to Health Department regulations.Ensure cooking utensils, plates, cups, equipment, and serving pieces are cleaned and sanitized and properly stored after each meal and snack.Maintain inventory of serving utensils, plates, cup and bowls and ensure adequate supply as center numbers change.Unload and store deliveries.Sweep and mop floors as scheduled and as needed due to spills.Wear proper cooking attire such as hair restraint, apron, gloves and adhere to center dress code policy.Assist Chef with proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment and report maintenance issues.
Hours: 7:00 am 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
QUALIFICATIONS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Be 18 years of ageHigh school diplomaFood Handlers or Food Manager certification, must be obtained within 10 days of hire. YMCA will pay for and support earning it.Experience working in a kitchen, prepping fresh food and washing large quantities of dishes.
