Job Description:

Leidos QTC Health Services QTC is hiring a Firewall Engineer.


The Firewall Engineer Senior Staff will be responsible for the design, administration, and management of Palo Alto Firewalls using Centralized Panorama Management. They will also be responsible for configuring and troubleshooting Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN and SSL decryption on Palo Alto Firewalls.


This role is fully remote.

This position is a hybrid role located in Irvine, CA


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage the Palo Alto Networks family of Next Gen firewalls, including but not limited to:

  • Standard firewall rule creation.

  • Configuring Policy based forwarding rules.

  • Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN.

  • Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to Palo Alto products and develop and implement remediation plans.

  • Conduct research, cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis on proposed hardware, software and systems to justify recommendations, support purchasing efforts and aid management in making infrastructure design and architecture decisions.

  • Providing coordination, notification, escalation and documentation to resolve events/issues, efficiently minimizing customer impact.

  • Participate in Primary & Alternate Data Center design architecture, vendor management & maintenance.

  • Disaster Recovery Core Team member – DRP design & documentation contributor, Yearly DRP Testing.

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist in managing and operating the firewall operating environments.

  • Perform any required re-accreditation actions such as DISA STIG review, OS upgrades, vulnerability scan remediation, and document various required lists (PPSM, H/W, and S/W) during the network’s accreditation cycle.

  • Maintain accurate equipment inventory by serial number, model number, barcode, and location.

  • Assisting with other tasks as needed or as assigned by management.

  • Knowledge of various hardware and software platforms not limited to PC’s, Laptops, switches, and routers

  • Ability to lead projects and maintenance activities across QTC’s national WAN & LAN networks

  • Experience in project management


Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Business, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering; or equivalent work experience/combined education.

  • 14 to 20 years of relevant professional experience

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE). CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+ is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of advanced firewall features such as App-ID, User-ID, Global Protect, Security and NAT Policies.

  • Proficient with various network management tools (i.e. Solarwinds, iPerf, Wireshark, etc).

  • Network engineering experiences with Route & Switch, SDWAN, DHCP, DNS is a plus.

  • Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation


 


Pay and Benefits:



  • Salary Range: $160,000-$180,000 w/ 9% annual bonus eligibility
