OVERVIEW

As a Cyber Security Engineer II, you will monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. A Cyber Security Engineer II provides comprehensive management of cyber security protocols within the organization, including the research, implementation, and maintenance of firewall policies across multiple platforms such as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator and host-based intrusion prevention systems. Responsibilities also extend to overseeing Endpoint Security Products, addressing technical issues with HBSS software, and managing tools for network vulnerability scanning. Additionally, the role involves proactive monitoring of security systems, conducting threat analysis, and ensuring compliance with established cyber security policies and procedures. Technical support, incident response, and participation in program initiatives for process optimization and quality enhancement are integral aspects of the position. Maintaining professional client relationships, meeting contractual obligations, and continuous personal and professional development are also key components of this multifaceted role.


The proposed salary range for this position is $69,000-$90,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Research, define, and implement firewall policies including DLP exceptions and HIPS management.



  • Manage Endpoint Security Products, custom scripts, and troubleshoot firewall whitelist issues.



  • Perform product upgrades, server maintenance, and antivirus management for multiple operating systems.



  • Operate and maintain various security systems, including firewalls, proxies, and email gateways.



  • Develop and maintain network protection measures, cyber security policies, and information protection functions.



  • Test and monitor network for vulnerabilities, conduct security alerts triage, and incident response efforts.



  • Install, configure, and maintain HBSS, addressing technical issues and documenting improvements.



  • Use software products for cyber security administration, including ArcSight and ACAS.



  • Conduct cyber threat analysis, ensure security testing, and provide guidance for system security.



  • Support operational strategies, ensure contractual deliverables, and participate in growth efforts.



  • Complete personal development plan, attend meetings, and build positive client relationships.



  • Demonstrate knowledge of incident response processes (detection, triage, incident analysis, remediation, and reporting). Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions



  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded



  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area



  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction



  • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients



  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract specific LCAT and requirements



  • Performs other related duties as assigned




KEY QUALIFICATIONS


  • Clearance: TS/SCI required


  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelors (BA/BS) or Master's (MA/MS) in IS Technology, Computer Science with 3 plus years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed and experience with the DoD is preferred.




  • Substitution: Associate Degree plus 4 additional years' work experience or 6+ additional years' work experience





  • 8570 certification (i.e. Security+, CISSP, CEH, CISM)

  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)



  • Policy Auditor (PA) and Policy Auditor Agent (PAA)

  • Knowledge of DoD system engineering processes

  • Cloud certifications (I.e. AWS architect, etc) for IT technical fields

  • CAD software (I.e. Catia, SolidWorks, NX, Creo) expertise for Mechanical Engineering fields

  • Network certifications (I.e. Net +, CCNA, CCNP, and the JNCP certs)
