• Operate industrial equipment that cut and wind various products, according to written standards and package orders for shipments, operate coating machinery within customer and industry standards


• Demonstrate safe work behaviors to avoid injury to self or others


• Problem solve and work with others to improve operational efficiencies to better service the customer


• Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts


• Maintain neat and orderly conditions in the work area

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher


• Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with adhesives and films


• Experience with lean manufacturing in a production environment


• Intermediate or advanced computer knowledge


• Experience working with slitting equipment


• Strong mathematical skills


• Strong problem solving, reporting and cognitive skills

Pay & Benefits

The starting rate of pay for this position is $28.92. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.). This posting is for a Converting Production Operator position at 3M Hartford City, IN. 3M anticipates that multiple openings for this position will occur over time. Qualified applicants may be considered as Converting Operator openings occur at 3M Hartford City, IN, and 3M will accept applications for up to 6 months from the posting date of this requisition.  Eligible applications will be kept open and active until September 29, 2023.  After that, the posting will be taken down and applicants will need to apply/re-apply for available open postings at that time.
