The Dept. of Orthopaedics is looking for an independent and highly motivated individual to join our research program focused on mammalian regenerative biology. The Lehoczky Lab studies mouse digit tip regeneration and is presently focused on determining the molecular pathways necessary for this process. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of basic and translational research in a collaborative and stimulating environment. The candidate will independently carry out daily activities of the laboratory, including:
Basic mouse colony maintenance tasks, including genotyping and setting up crosses
Performing a wide range of experimental techniques involving molecular biology, tissue histology, and cell culture
Troubleshooting and documenting laboratory protocols and experiments
Lab maintenance tasks including inventories, equipment maintenance, and lab reagent preparation
Lab regulatory tasks including lab safety protocol, animal protocol maintenance, and training of new personnel
Required Skills:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential
Ability to multi-task, think critically and work independently
Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and can clearly write about and present their work
Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology, genetics, and mouse husbandry is helpful
Minimum two-year commitment strongly preferred
Qualifications
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Biology or related field. New graduate with relevant course or project work.
Previous research laboratory experience is highly preferred.
