As an Operations Intern, you will work closely with our production team to support various operational processes, including concrete batching, quality control, equipment operation, and production scheduling. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the overall operational efficiency and excellence required in the ready-mix concrete industry. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the concrete industry, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and contribute to the operations of our company.
Responsible For:
Concrete Production Support:
Assist in various aspects of concrete production, including batching and quality control.
Learn and follow procedures to ensure compliance with established specifications.
Equipment Operation:
Learn to operate and maintain various equipment used in concrete production.
Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues.
Production Scheduling:
Assist in coordinating production schedules based on project requirements.
Learn to optimize operational sequences for efficiency.
Safety Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and guidelines during all operational activities.
Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
Learn to implement best practices in operations within the ready-mix concrete industry.
What we are looking for:
Currently enrolled in the Concrete Industry Management Program at South Dakota State University
Familiarity with all commonly used computer software (MS OfficeSuite, etc.).
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the demands of various operational processes.
