Job Description:

Position Summary: The role of the Supervisor/Therapist - Forensic Services Support Program is to provide services to  incarcerated individuals who experience mental and behavioral health concerns. Through therapeutic intervention the supervisor/therapist will help to ensure a stable transition back into the community for those serviced.  This would occur by employing a holistic service/strengths based approach that addresses conditions within the offender’s life that could contribute to recidivism, joblessness, homelessness, and/or substance abuse relapse. Glade Run recognizes that maintaining service continuity as the individual moves through the criminal justice system and returns to the community is critical. The Supervisor/Therapist would also be responsible for oversight of daily program needs, staff supervision, and would need to meet the following requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:


  1. Masters degree in a Counseling Social Service, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and/or Criminal Justice related field, and two-years Master level clinical experience required with at least one year of experience working with adults. 

  2. Minimum of one year of supervisory experience. 

  3. Prior experience giving coaching and feedback to employees on performance related issues.

  4. Case management experience and/or knowledge preferred.

  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with agency personnel and community stakeholders.

  6. Ability to accept feedback.

  7. Ability to adjust hours to job requirements.

  8. Ability to work both independently and in a team.

  9. Must have emotional stability to perform essential job functions.

  10. Must be comfortable working in a correctional facility environment.

  11. Must be able to work quickly and effectively in high pressured situations 

  12. Must be able to be able to work in a flexible work environment 

  13. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills

  14. Ability to protect the confidentiality of the clients

  15. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

  16. Ability to identify with the agency’s mission statement and support the agency’s core values

  17. Must have acceptable PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance and FBI clearance

CORE COMPETENCIES:


  1. Complete the Psychosocial and Health Assessment with the client  to obtain pertinent social, psychiatric, developmental, family, educational, medical and other data essential for planning the treatment for each individual serviced.  

  2. During each session the therapist and consumer will work on one or more skill sets that have been identified in the Treatment Plan goals and objectives. Treatment plans will be updated according to program standards. Discharge criteria will be incorporated into the psychosocial, treatment goals, and articulated specifically in the Treatment Plan. Discharge planning will focus on the needs of the consumer in home, work, recreation, and community settings. It will also anticipate the needs for continued services for stability and coping skills. At discharge, appropriate referrals will be made as needed to maintain and/or increase gains that have been made during treatment. 

  3. Work cooperatively as part of a team to provide individuals with the best treatment possible including collaborating closely with the County Forensic Services Manager, the criminal justice system, the county jail staff, treatment members of the FSSP, and other community resources.

  4. Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

  5. Provide monitoring and supervision to program staff to ensure compliance with documentation standards 

  6. Lead monthly supervision meetings to ensure that organizational goals, program and operating policies and communicated, understood and followed by all staff

  7. Maintain fluid communication with stakeholders and partnerships (attending regularly scheduled meetings) and keep accurate records 

  8. Assist program leadership with program data collection and outcomes

  9. Manage FSSP Intake Tracker 

  10. Ability to problem solve and offer creative solutions to barriers addressed in supervision and stakeholder meetings
