Primarily responsible for exercising safe driving practices ensuring their safety and the safety of the public. Responsible for operating commercial motor vehicle transporting shavings from our shavings plant to the turkey houses in a safe and secure manner.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid Class A CDL and current medical card with 1-year verifiable satisfactory driving record.
Minimum 21 years of age.
Knowledge of Department of Transportation, State and Federal Laws.
Experience: CDL Driving with 3 years (Preferred)
Ability to read and write legibly; Basic math functions and skills
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Shavings Transportation Manager. There are no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations. safety rules and regulations, all company policies, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
Ensure secure load before movement.
Maintain proper documentation (i.e. equipment, time, trips, weight, etc.).
Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor.
Inspect truck and trailer as per D.O.T. requirements - pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Operate Electronic Logging Device (ELOG)
Safety Requirements:
Follow Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws, and company safety policies and programs.
Physical Requirements:
Work in outside environment (including inclement weather) daily.
