The Purchasing department is seeking a Planner/Buyer to be a key contributor to Armstrong's production success. Candidates should possess the following experience and skills-set.



Key Responsibilities

Find and develop vendors both domestically and internationally to provide best quality and delivery while helping lower total cost
•Collaborate and strategize with all the Armstrong global purchasing departments to consolidate and improve the global supply chain
•Help standardize purchasing business processes across all global divisions
•Work with product engineering, CAD, and sales to ensure the drawing and technical data for purchased items fully describes the part for correct and efficient quoting and buying
•Manage supply chain volatility by leading a global team to solve quality, cost, or delivery issues
•Help drive lower inventory by working with vendors on innovative stocking solutions such as vendor man- aged inventory
•Review vendor's on-time performance and work to improve poor performers.
•Create and send purchase orders to vendors based on requisitions from Production Control
•Create and maintain vendor lead times, minimum buys, and other critical data in the ERP system
•Coordinate vendor compliance for global certifications such as Indian Boiler Registration and European CE



Key Requirements

•Experienced developing supply sources
•Demonstrated history in the procurement of metal castings, forgings, bar stock and sheet materials in a variety of alloys
•Excellent face-to face, telephone, and e-mail communicator



Education Level

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent



Experience Level

5 years
