Job Description:

Who We Are:


The Defense & Intelligence Solutions Division supports US and friendly foreign governments, as well as commercial clients, primarily in systems replace to addressing ongoing threats to national security that require timely intelligence data, including signal intelligence obtained through electronic surveillance.


Objectives of this Role:


  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to providing effective System Administration for division and project Windows and Linux servers and end user workstations.

  • Primarily responsible for System Administration of windows server systems in support of division operations and customer contract requirements on project based deliverable systems.

  • Manage updates required for hardening and securing both Windows and Linux devices to the latest security standards, adherence to the NIST SP800-53 controls, and assisting in the development of secured baseline templates and virtual machine images.

  • In a Classified environment, serving as a System administrator, providing role-based separation and maintaining the Integrity, Availability and Confidentiality of the overall environment though continuous monitoring principles.

  • Alternate to the responsible Linux System Administrator for Linux server systems in support of division operations and customer contract requirements on project based deliverable systems.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:


  • Provide effective System Administration for division and project Windows servers and end user systems and the related tools and equipment.

  • Analyze technological solutions and propose innovative approaches to systems administration and overall Division IT operations.

  • Maintain existing infrastructure and systems through patch management and vulnerability detection and remediation.

  • Deploy new end user systems and Virtual Machines following NIST 800-171 security guidance and using a secured baselined template.

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation and robust change management in all areas of the environment for which you are responsible.


Requirements:


  • Requires an Associates or a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Linux System Administration, Windows System Administration.

  • 2+ years: SwRI is looking for an experienced System Administrator with knowledge of both Windows and Linux based operating systems in an enterprise environment. This knowledge should include practiced implementation of a continuously monitored and maintained, flexible infrastructure.

  • 10+ years: Related professional experience required without a Bachelors degree.

  • CompTIA Security+ certification would be required within 6 months of employment.

  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.



Special Requirements:


Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
