Position Summary:

The Senior Coordinator in the Office of Student Conduct (OSC) serves as the primary office staff member to adjudicate housing misconduct cases, working closely with the Assistant Director for Student Conduct-University Housing to ensure proper review and resolution of any case originating in University Housing. The Senior Coordinator will also assist with the management of the OSC's Georgia Resiliency and Integrity Training (GRIT), which works closely with University Judiciary to plan, implement, and facilitate a comprehensive resiliency sanction, and will work to assist with the facilitation of the OSC's Community Service Reflection. The Senior Coordinator reports directly to the Assistant Director for Student Conduct- University Housing.

· Ability to facilitate learning experiences for students· Ability to manage detailed work, balance time demands, and take initiative to grow programs and student participation is necessary· Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement while maintaining effective working relations with members of the University community.· Understanding of student development concepts and the ability to utilize them in student conduct matters.· Understanding of the role of student conduct at a large, complex institution.· Knowledge of higher education conduct issues, policies, and due process preferred.· In-depth understanding of residence life philosophy and practices.· Ability to make decisions independently.· Possess computer knowledge and skills and be able to utilize word processing, email, internet, and calendar and database programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:


General Administrative and University Housing


· Receive and conduct prompt reviews of reports of alleged student misconduct and determine appropriate response and resolution to conduct matters, including no action, informal resolution or formal resolution and work with students toward appropriate resolution, up to and including separation from the University.· Serve as the primary hearing officer for all student conduct cases originating in University Housing, analyzing student misconduct in the residence halls and responding to behavior by fully utilizing the resources of the Office of Student Conduct, University Police, and University Housing.· Partner with the Assistant Director for Student Conduct-University Housing to plan and facilitate ongoing training programs for University Housing staff related to the adjudication of student conduct and community guide issues, with training covering such topics as initiating the conduct process, report writing, due process in case adjudication, responding to student crisis, investigation, and mediation.· Coordinate with the Investigator for Student Conduct for all investigations of cases originating in University Housing.

Duties/Responsibilities:


Office Initiatives


· Assist with the management of the administrative aspects of the Georgia Resiliency and Integrity Training (GRIT) program within the OSC, focusing on program design, structure, and facilitation.· Collaborate with University Judiciary to oversee the recruitment, training, and assignment of University Judiciary students in their role as GRIT leaders.· Assist in the facilitation of the OSC's Community Service Reflection and assess, as needed, student learning associated with this program.· Gather data and other assessment information surrounding resiliency-related student learning for both the GRIT workshop and the follow-up meeting component.· Create detailed departmental assessment reports for GRIT to assist with determining the overall effectiveness of the program in relation to the Division of Student Affairs' Wellbeing Initiative.· Assist the Director for Student Conduct in outreach/education regarding the student conduct process, including presentations at UGA student orientation sessions and in the residence halls· Complete administrative job functions in a timely, thorough and acceptable manner in accordance with established expectations.· Other duties as assigned.
