The Select Group is seeking Senior Project Manager to join one of our top clients in the utilities industry in Houston. This role will be hybrid with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years Project Management Experience working with large projects and interacting with multiple cross functional groups
Experience leading and/or being a part of an Agile Transformation
Familiar with PowerBI and use it to build/generate reports
Familiar with ADO
Experience conducting presentations in front of key stakeholders
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to be assertive when needed but tailor back and listen when warranted
Nice to have Skills:
PMP
Scrum Master / Agile Certifications
Day to Day responsibilities:
Direct large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners
Accountable for one or more initiatives including business, operational, and IT deliverables
Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit and complies with the companies polices and guidelines, including IT, health, and safety
Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to utilize methodologies in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all phases of a project, including management of BA/Analyst duties of requirements gathering, testing, and defect management and manage the completion of all identified deliverables
Provides frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of schedules, milestones, and vendor accountability
Facilitates collaboration across multiple functions, departments, and levels and serves as a role model for teamwork
Identifies risks to project success and collaborates with partners to mitigate those risks
Ensures asset and inventory management including checks/audits are in line with global standards and processes
Maximizes availability of all IT equipment and infrastructure through continuous improvement and continuously looks to improve efficiencies and cost reductions accordingly
Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders and manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters with contingency plans as needed
Develops and Manages Project Budget including but not limited to the following: Draft and submit budget proposals, recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary, validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Develops communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities
Represents the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
Facilitates weekly Core Team and monthly Operating Committee meetings to review progress with key constituents
Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
Publishes periodic project status reports
Proposes recommendations and adjustments
Maximizes availability of all IT equipment and infrastructure through continuous improvement and continuously looks to improve efficiencies and cost reductions accordingly
Perform day to day management of all phases of the project, including management of BA/Analyst duties of requirements gathering, testing, and defect management and manage the completion of all identified deliverables
Coach, mentor, and provide day to day direction to project team members
Participate in continuous improvement of practices, templates, and tools to expand and mature capabilities for the Project Management Office
