Job Summary:


Summary


The purpose of this position is to build shower doors of various types, using assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, and bill of materials.


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Pull glass workpieces used to assemble the shower door

  • Inspect all glass for defects such as chips, bubbles, scratches, blown holes, proper edgework, etc.

  • Use a buffer to buff all marked defects.

  • Inspect all metallic workpieces to ensure the correct length, finish, hole placement, etc., according to the work order.

  • Utilize a tape measure to ensure the product is within the guidelines.

  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to the glass.

  • Ensure the machines and tools are in good working order, and perform daily cleaning and light maintenance on machinery/tools.


 


Requirements



  • Must have at least one year of construction or carpentry experience

  • Must be able to work at a fast pace

  • Must be able to work with a variety of hand tools and power tools

  • Must be able to perform calculations and understand measurements, including converting decimals to fractions

  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment


 


Physical Requirements



  • Must be able to lift and stand frequently throughout the shift

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, and reach, occasionally

  • Must be able to perform heavy work, lifting material that weighs up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis

  • Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled (protection from the weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes)

  • Must have close visual acuity to perform assigned tasks such as reading building instructions, inspecting material, and assembling material.
