About the Opportunity

The Supervision and Regulation Business Dedicated Group (S&R BDG) has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Analyst, reporting to S&R BDG Manager. The Senior Business Analyst provides research and analysis of data and problems of varying complexity to develop recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business operations. The analyst provides guidance in identifying, evaluating, and developing processes and procedures that are effective and meet requirements. This role provides reporting and analysis to assist in executing solutions and may provide consultation to clients, colleagues, and management. The role also participates in cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues and provides support and coordination on moderately complex projects. The senior business analyst determines best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.

What You Will Do:

This is a senior level position that requires a seasoned professional with a full understanding of industry practices and requires high level of experience and proficiency in field. General responsibilities include:


  • Performs complex analysis of major business issues and proactively searches for and recommends sustainable solutions utilizing established methodology and tools within functional areas.

  • Works with the clients and other resources to assess current capabilities, anticipates the high-level customer needs and recommends business process improvements and sustainable solutions, and prioritizes established requirements.

  • Proactively reviews, compiles and analyzes detailed and complex statistics and data for major business issues. Provides guidance and collaboration in completing analysis, information or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related areas. May evaluate root cause and effect into solutions.

  • Leads process improvement and solution discussions and presents outcomes in written and verbal format to senior management.

  • Develops and designs new business processes of a major and critical nature and the elaboration and updating of existing business processes.

  • Key participant in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities specific to the Supervision and Regulation BDG include:


  • Collect and analyze asset data, prepare reporting, and facilitate recommendations and decision-making regarding customer asset inventory to ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the business and System IT.

  • Engage and communicate with leadership at all levels of the S&R organization and governance, facilitating prioritization and strategic directional discussions and decisions.

  • Engage and communicate with System IT leadership regarding customer planning, blockers, and removal of blockers.

  • Be a liaison between high priority strategic customer programs and System IT.

  • Be the liaison between the customer and System IT Finance organization to ensure understanding of and appropriate application of IT charges.

  • Provide change management support as the customer implements transformational enterprise platforms that align with their strategic direction.

  • Facilitate and guide application of scrum and agile principles to the team’s work.

  • Manage the BDG records management program.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 6 to 9+ years of relevant work experience.

  • 2+ years of experience using and leading Agile/Scrum framework principles.

Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area. General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.

Communications: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience

Risk Management: The Sr. business analyst is responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function’s risk management.

Decision Making: Works under direction and guidance in planning details of procedures and methods to attain definite objectives. Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards. Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.

Physical Demands: Requires some degree of sitting (for prolonged periods of time), standing, lifting carrying, pushing, pulling less than 20 lbs.

Hours of Work: May require extended work hours. Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary.

  • The hiring range for this position is $79,400 - $109,120 annually. 

  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications
