Scope of Role:
Title: Pharmacist
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Type: Contract - 3+ months
Hours: Mon-Fri - 7a-3:30p
Summary of Role:
The pharmacist would primarily be staffing in our "Triage" pharmacy, which includes checking prepared oral doses of medication, answering the telephones and triaging the calls, and sending medications via the pneumatic tube system. They will require some training on-site.
Duties:
Reviews and process medication orders using the hospital information system (HIS) and the pharmacy computer system to ensure that the medication is appropriate in terms of dose, dosage form, route of administration, frequency, duration of therapy, and patient's disease state.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure that pharmacy products are prepared and distributed accurately, with the appropriate quantity and at the time the product is needed.
When necessary, the pharmacist prepares and distributes pharmacy product accurately, in the appropriate quantity and at the time the product is needed.
Skills:
Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology and personal computers preferred.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to neonate, child, and adolescent preferred.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in pharmacy
Preferred Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Licensed Pharmacist
Current/recent Hospital Pharmacy exp
Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology and personal computers
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to neonate, child, and adolescent preferred.
COVID Vaccinated may be required
