Position: Secondary Elective Teacher      NOW HIRING!

Workdays: 191 days (4-day student week)

Salary: $52,500.00 bachelor’s - $55,500 master’s

We're seeking passionate and dedicated individuals ready to contribute to our students' lives as middle/high school electives teachers. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to impart crucial skills and knowledge aligned with Colorado Academic Standards, spanning a diverse range of subjects including robotics, coding, novel study, entrepreneurship, business/finance, fine arts, and more. Responsibilities:

Electives teachers in middle/high school significantly contribute to our school community, serving as essential supporters of our educational mission. Their responsibilities encompass a variety of essential tasks, including:

Planning, Guiding, and Evaluating Learning: Special electives teachers meticulously plan, guide, and evaluate students' learning journeys within our educational philosophy and curriculum framework. They ensure each student receives a well-rounded and personalized education tailored to their unique needs.

Creating an Ideal Learning Atmosphere: These teachers cultivate an optimal learning environment where students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to excel. They foster a classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning, setting the stage for academic success.

Implementing High-Quality Programs: By integrating innovative resources into their teaching practices, they equip students with the tools and resources needed to thrive academically.

Courses may include speech/debate, creative writing, entrepreneurship, business/finance, fine arts survey, novel study, robotics, coding, and more.

In essence, special electives teachers significantly contribute to our school's commitment to academic excellence and student success. Through their dedication, passion, and expertise, they support students in realizing their full potential and embracing lifelong learning.


  •  Plan and present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of concepts and skills

  •  Prepare and distribute learning materials such as notes, assignments, and quizzes

  •  Source the resources and supplies needed for lessons

  •  Ensure that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning

  •  Grade assignments and quizzes in a timely manner

  •  Invigilate quizzes and final examinations

  •  Document and report on students' progress

  •  Attend meetings with parents and staff

Qualifications:


  •  Valid Colorado teaching license OR 36 credit hours OR Passed PRAXIS exam

  •  Strong understanding of effective teaching practices

  •  Preferred experience with Direct Instruction methods such as the Madeline Hunter Method (I do, we do, you do), Teach Like a Champion techniques, skill mastery, high expectations, and classical education approach.

  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills

  •  Previous teaching experience preferred, or relevant work experience with children
