General Responsibilities:

The Legal Support and Risk Management Specialist must possess exceptional time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills as well as superb communication and people skills. Support one or more senior-level executives, is a detail-oriented team player who has excellent problem-solving skills and can build strong relationships across the organization.

Specific Job Duties:

Supporting CFO and Legal Counsel:


  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Legal Counsel to provide administrative assistance.

  • Manage their calendars, schedule appointments, and handle correspondence.

  • Assist with contract management, ensuring timely execution and compliance.

Legal Experience and Contract Management:


  • Leverage your legal background to handle legal documents, contracts, and related administrative tasks.

  • Maintain accurate records and assist in legal research when necessary.

Accounting Knowledge and Reporting:


  • Utilize your accounting experience to run and analyze financial reports.

  • Assist in financial data entry, invoice support gathering, and basic bookkeeping tasks.

Insurance Expertise:


  • Demonstrate familiarity with property, casualty, and cargo insurance.

  • Handle insurance-related administrative tasks, including claims processing and documentation.

  • Assist with the annual insurance renewals.

Interpersonal Skills and Professionalism:


  • As the first point of contact for internal and external visitors and communications, exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.

  • Organization and Follow-Up:

  • Keep track of tasks, deadlines, and follow-up items.

  • Ensure timely responses to inquiries and requests.

Requirements:


  • Four-year college degree

  • Legal experience, contract management

  • General accounting experience

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite

  • Comfortable navigating databases and using relevant software.

  • Effective verbal and written communication.

  • Active listening and the ability to relay complex information clearly.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.

  • Detail-oriented and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Prioritize effectively and maintain an organized workspace.
