Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Clinical Support Specialist to be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the nursing department.  The Clinical Support Specialist within the scope of practice, assists in monitoring resident’s needs are met through resident service plans, physicians’ orders, community policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations. 


 


More about the position: 



  • Provides oversight of care implementation by direct care staff, recognition of deviation from the service plan, and provides education to direct care staff when deviation from the service plan is identified.

  • Oversees Medication Management, including medication storage, administration, and audits.

  • Participates actively in the Primrose community’s quality improvement process, including regular attendance at, and reporting to the Quality Committee.

  • Participates in ongoing facility efforts to improve the overall quality of the nursing care, including efforts to evaluate and address the causes of various nursing department-related problems and deficiencies.

  • Proactively develops positive employee relations. Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.

  • Monitors care for residents receiving services through third party providers, assuring all documentation requirements are met.

  • Maintains confidentiality within the workplace with all written and verbal communications pertaining to residents, staff, and community operations.

  • Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities, as needed.

  • Contributes to the evaluation of the resident’s response to the service plan, medication, and treatment plans.

  • Assists in creating and overseeing the nursing schedule and sharing on-call responsibilities.

  • Coordinates onboarding and oversees monthly training requirements for clinical staff.

  • Assists in care conferences with residents and families as directed by the Director of Nursing.

  • Observes changes in resident status, needs or preferences and documents and reports appropriately. Contributes observations and health information to the Director of Nursing.

  • Completes audits of nursing department related items to ensure compliance with Primrose policies and standards ensuring efficient operation of the nursing department is maintained.

What we're looking for: 



  • Current, active Practical Nurse License or other health related certification or license in the state the community is located in.

  • Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification per state regulations. Meet annual continuing education hours required for nursing license, if applicable.

  • Knowledge of current state laws and regulations that apply to the assisted living setting.

  • Experience in long term care or assisted living environment is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills in principles of team building and motivating others.

  • Basic knowledge of computer software and programs required, minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Teams.

  • Able to work primarily day hours with occasional varying hours and on call time.
