 This position is for undergraduate Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have at least 6 credits. Requirement: Candidate must have received a Federal Work Study on your Financial Aid Award Letter. Students can speak with Student Employment regarding further job questions. The Lore-El Programs Coordinator is a student work study position in the Office of Student Culture and Belonging. They support multiple areas of programming for the Lore-El Center for Women’s Leadership, and report directly to the Director and/or Graduate Coordinator. After training, the Lore-El Programs Coordinator will co-lead programs and dialogues with students on a variety of topics including, but not limited to: leadership, identity, gender minorities in STEM, and other intersectional topics. This position encourages professional and personal development through constructive feedback, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.

The Lore-El Center is a vibrant living and learning environment that promotes the empowerment of Stevens women through programs, events, mentorship and a shared residential experience. The mission of Lore-El is to increase awareness to issues facing not only women but all genders; inspire women to reach their fullest potential; empower women to further their co-curricular development; and create a supportive and inclusive campus environment where women can develop their leadership capacity. The Lore-El Program Coordinator oversees creation and promotion of events and initiatives, along with social media.

Responsibilities:


  • Create, advertise and implement programs focused on supporting and empowering gender minorities and other underrepresented groups in STEM for undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and faculty/staff 


  • Help plan and implement major programs including, but not limited to: Industry Chats, The Black Girl Safe Space, Women’s HERstory Month, the Trailblazer Speaker, The LeadHERship Conference, Orientation & Graduation Receptions, and more


  • Maintain Lore-El Programs Instagram account and office resource


  • Work collaboratively with other interns and staff


  • Meet regularly with supervisor and SCB staff


  • Other duties as assigned
