Responsibilities:
•Records transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using computer and software programs.
•Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.
•Performs audit, tax, or consulting procedures as assigned by supervisors.
•Assists in proofing financial statements, tax returns, and other documents.
•Performs other accounting, auditing, consulting and tax duties as needed in projects and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
•Assists in recruiting entry-level and experienced staff by serving as “greeters” for on-campus interviews and such other recruiting duties as needed and attend Beta Alpha Psi events, career days, and functions at colleges and universities sponsored by the Firm.
•Attends to client service adding value to clients’ businesses is an integral part of the job requirements and begins to learn cross-selling opportunities and refer those opportunities to more qualified professionals.
•Accepts responsibility for accuracy of data entry, accumulation, and maintenance in all aspects of what we do as an accounting and consulting Firm.
•Learns through Performance Advisor proper delegation and management of workload and demonstrates ability to properly manage workload.
•Other duties as may be assigned.

•Performs all duties described under job description.
•Develop technical proficiency and competence.
•Work effectively as part of a client service team.
•Contribute to positive work environment by assisting associates and other interns. Develop rapport with the Firm’s existing clients.
•Gain thorough understanding of HORNE LLP's existing clients.
•Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate business etiquette, including proper dress and business correspondence.
•Seek to learn through training and individual study.

Qualifications:
•Student actively pursuing an accounting degree
•Proficiency with computer and spreadsheet software programs, or software appropriate to practice area
•General knowledge of accounting principles, income taxes, or consulting area as appropriate.
