About the role
PKL Services Inc. is seekinga knowledgeable administrative professional to support a military squadron in a General Clerk III role to provide administrative services in support of theCommander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) at VX-9 China Lake, CA.

Overview:

This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Be familiar with the terminology of the office environment. Clerical tasks, including filing of pre-coded documents in chronological order, operation and maintenance of standard office equipment, and required office organization. Responsibilities include filing pre-coded documents in a chronological file, or operating office equipment, (e.g., photocopy, typewriter, or fax machine).

Daily Duties within the Travel Department Administrative Support Services:

The contractor shall greet visitors to the office and department, and answer questions regarding office procedures and policies. Certified Non-DTS Entry Agent (NDEA); modify and review travel documents, input and maintain lines of accounting (LOA), maintain government-approved budgets, perform investigative research in Defense Travel Systems (DTS), Citibank, and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) to ensure proper justification and allocation of claims, audit Citibank statements and prior travel for indebted members. Build Temporary Additional Duty (TAD), Temporary Duty (TDY), and No Cost TDY travel orders for government employees and service members. Utilize Excel spreadsheets to perform travel cost estimates, track Detachment statuses, and complete DTS reports. Activate/ Deactivate GTCC, assist GTCC applications, and provide proper DTS training materials and Statement of Understanding (SOU) to incoming service members. Troubleshoot and research customer inquiries to better service persons admin related, DTS, or Government Travel Card requests.

About you
We would love to hear from you if you have:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Past experience working in an office administrative environment (three years).
Familiarity with one or more of the following systems/processes/functions is desired:
Defense Travel Systems (DTS)Manage and validate proper use of squadron credit cards (CITIBANK).

Required Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

This position is subject to a government security investigation. Requires access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII), unclassified sensitive information, unclassified Department of Defense Information Technology (DoD IT) systems, and the host installation or squadron spaces. Must be able to receive a Government Common Access Card (CAC), access Government systems, and requirements of Department of Defense (DoD) Instruction 1000.13 and SECNAVMAN 5510.30 (series) and SECNAVINST 5211.5 (series) prior to performing administrative services outlined in the PWS. Shall possess and maintain a SECRET or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (TS/SCI) Security Clearance. Reliable transportation is necessary to gain access to the job site.

Position and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Thursday nine hours, every other Friday eight hours. Evening or weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Hours are 0630-1630 but are subjected to change based on the needs of the squadron. Occasional telework may also be required upon request of the customer or PKL Services.

Travel:

Five percent (5%) of travel may be required for job-related training attendance.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Office environment Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
