The Driver Courier SP SG WG is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses - are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and accurate transport of patients to and from their home and/or medical facilities in a timely manner while delivering excellent customer service. This position will also assist with patient transport in the hospital when patient census is low for shuttle service. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Transportation • Operate vehicle in a safe manner and abide by driving laws. • Provide the patient with safe transport to and from appropriately assigned designations in a professional matter. • Takes a proactive measure to meet the needs of the patient. • Has knowledge of the proper procedures in moving a patient and any equipment in and out of the vehicle. • Be cognizant of patient symptoms and know when to communicate for additional assistance. • Maximizes time in an effective and efficient manner. • Must accurately complete activity logs and vehicle report through WORKS application system. • Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness. • Report daily vehicle needs for general maintenance, oil changes, tire changes, etc. 90% Hospital Patient Transport • Transporter will ensure that appropriate staff personnel are kept informed as to the receipt and departure of patient as they enter and exit a clinical area [appropriate patient handoff]. 10% Required Minimum Education: or equivalent. Georgia Driver's License
Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Required Minimum Experience: experience transporting patients Experience in a Hospital setting Required Minimum Skills: Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read and follow route schedules. Must be able to understand and operate GPS and cell phone devices while abiding by driving laws. The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude. Must be able to complete activity logs and vehicle reports in an application system in a timely manner for approval.
