The Physician - Pathology - Austell, GA is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. The Pathology Department of Wellstar Health System is looking for a board-eligible, board-certified AP/CP Pathologist. This provider will practice primarily at Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA and Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.
Scheduled coverage rotation time for frozen sections at Douglas Hospital, Paulding Hospital, and subsidiary surgical centers. The position involves general responsibilities in anatomic and clinical pathology with possibility for medical lab director duties. Ideal candidate will have at least three years of post-graduate experience. Recently trained pathologists will be considered. Subspecialty Pathology Fellowship experience and/or previous leadership/academic experience is preferred. Wellstar Health System consists of ten not-for-profit hospitals located primarily in suburban Atlanta.
The applicant must be BE/BC in anatomic and clinical pathology. Responsibilities include an interesting array of surgical cases, frozen section diagnoses, STAT non-gyn cytology evaluations, conferences, and laboratory consultations. Frozen section cases include breast and head and neck specimens. Ideal candidate will have an interest/experience in Gynecologic Pathology, head and neck and/or hematopathology.
