Job Summary
This part-time Research Technician will assist with all aspects of the research projects including molecular biology, biochemistry, cardiovascular physiology, electrophysiology studies, imaging, histopathology, vascular biology and cellular analysis. She/He needs to be instrumental in performing experiments and experience in scientific data collection, analysis and interpretation. She/He will work directly with Dr. Cevher Ozcan to complete the project.
Responsibilities
The Research Technician will provide technical support activities related to scientific research projects.
Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates.
His/her responsibilities include, but not limited to following: 1) Provides technical and administrative support for a research project.
Installs, sets up and performs experiments.
Working with mice, including behavioral monitoring, recovery of tissues, and histological processing.
Genetic screening of transgenic mouse lines, using PCR protocols and keeping colony.
Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
Analyzes possible solutions and tissue using standard laboratory procedures.
Conducts literature reviews and assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts, presentations and other documents.
Interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
Assisting with developing or amending study protocols, data collection tools and databases.
Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
Performs other related work as needed.

Experience:
Experience with basic science research.

Experience with cardiovascular research, cellular electrophysiology, and animal models of diseases is highly desired.
