Position Summary

We are looking for a design-, copy-, and performance-obsessed Creative Strategist to develop innovative strategies across all paid channels, from social to CRM. As a creative strategist, you will be a key player in transforming Yahoo's portfolio of brands through paid campaigns, shaping the strategy and up-leveling real-time opportunities. You'll be one of the architects behind our brand's presence on paid and will plan, develop, and execute content that drives brand awareness and traffic. We're seeking a detail-minded creative thinker and social storyteller with a passion for staying ahead of trends and a strategic mind for data-driven decisions. Reporting to the Head of Performance Creative in the Yahoo Marketing Studio, you will help bring ideas to life for millions of screens. You will partner with a team of creative professionals and media strategists, driving our business goals as you create compelling content that resonates with our audience and strengthens our brand's connection with customers.

Key Responsibilities


  • Think big- Come up with creative ideas for key marketing initiatives for our portfolio of brands. Drive and participate in creative brainstorming, concept development and execution of paid campaigns

  • Roll up your sleeves - . Be a highly-efficient go-getter who is poised to produce ideas and who dives in with an optimistic and creative approach to solving problems

  • Work well with others - Partner with cross-functional teams (media, design, copy, video editors, analytics, social, influencer, product and more) to strategically execute the work, align objectives, support new initiatives, and drive engagement and traffic. Incorporate ideas and make revisions in response to the critique of other team members and clients.


  • Be organized - Build a deep understanding of the marketing calendar and team players to strategically find moments to make Yahoo break through. Use strong project management skills to execute.

  • Thrive in ambiguity - Champion a culture of innovation and curiosity to do the unexpected, obsessing the details without constant direction


  • Be strategic - . Understand the company's strategy and insights, ensuring creative work aligns with our larger mission and contributes to our strategic goals. Craft persuasive decks to share our vision.

  • Trend Awareness: Continuously research and explore current digital and design trends in order to keep up to date aesthetic and understanding of what drives audience and engagement in digital design now. Incorporate innovative approaches into our creative strategy.

  • Be performance-obsessed - Partner with the Analytics team to monitor performance of campaigns for insights and inspiration for optimizations and future iterations

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Social Media, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in creative strategy, at an advertising agency or a brand.

  • In-depth knowledge of digital media platforms, trends, and best practices.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work efficiently under tight deadlines.

  • Creative thinker with an ability to develop engaging and shareable content.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with social media performance tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexible, collaborative, accepts and manages feedback well.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
