Job Description:

The Environmental Engineer Associate assists plant management in the identification, analysis, design and implementation of improvement opportunities.



Requirements



  • As aEnvironmental Engineer Associate, you will participate in the Engineer in Training (EIT) program (approximate duration of 26 weeks) under the direction of the Senior Manager -Enviromental/Land.

  • Upon completion of the EIT program, employee must be capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the Environmental Engineer I.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations, site specific permits and technical procedures.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Knowledge of databases, manufacturing software and internet reporting.

  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheet and word processing software.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, geology or similar area of study discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, materials).

  • No experience required for Process Engineer Associate.

  • Climb up to 60 feet above ground on ladders and catwalks

  • Walk/stand on uneven ground, walkways and catwalks throughout the work day

  • Must be available to walk, crawl, kneel and climb ladders/stairs to inspect facilities and to observe work activities.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Capability of working for long periods of time in extreme heat and in dusty areas, confined spaces and heights.

  • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights (up to 350').

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and enclosed spaces and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.



WORKING CONDITIONS



Works in all weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, rain and in high humidity and is required to work in all plant environments.Incumbent will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards and heights..May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS's)
