Job Description



  • The Metrologist is responsible for calibrating a wide range of equipment and instrumentation within pre-determined accuracy and precision tolerances.

    • Equipment that is in scope includes but is not limited to: balances, mechanical/electronic pipettes, thermometers, tachometers, timers, multi-meters, check weights and other standards (that are then used to calibrate other devices), pressure control devices and environmental chambers.



  • Maintaining a schedule, and adjusting the schedule based on the needs of partner groups

  • Reviewing the work of peers and assessing the work of external vendors.




Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited Institution in Metrology, Electronic Engineering, Physics or appropriate technical discipline, advanced metrology/calibration training and certifications or previous military PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory, or comparable) experience

  • Capabilityof operating in a regulated pharmaceutical environment

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a metrology, calibration or validation function; preferably within a research/regulatory environment.

  • Experience operating in a cGxP environment is not required, but is helpful.
