Job Description:

The Human Resources Coordinator role provides support to the HR team and Mac locations, as necessary, to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to recruitment, policy interpretation and administration, employee engagement, recordkeeping, and other duties as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness of the HR function. The role will collaborate across all departments to ensure the company continues to balance the needs of the business with those of our employees. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions:


  • Support the HR department in the function of managing all HR processes.

  • Manage onboarding and training initiatives in accordance with company objectives.

  • Process payroll transactions, partner with Payroll Manager to process biweekly/monthly payroll.

  • Assist managers in the coordination of the hiring process by acting as a liaison between the department, human resources, and workforce relations.

  • Manage important and sensitive personnel programs, operations, and activities within the department.

  • Research, prepare, and coordinate establishment of new or revisions in departmental policies and procedures.

  • Benefits administration in all employee benefit programs, such as medical, dental, ancillary benefits, life insurance, accident and disability insurance, COBRA, 401(k) including reviewing invoices, and communicating benefits information to employees.

  • Act as a strong partner across businesses, establish ongoing relationships with hiring managers in order to understand their business and recruitment needs and fill their open positions in a timely manner.

  • Maintain, analyze, and distribute relevant recruitment reports and metrics.

  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to internal website, job boards, etc.

  • Assist in sourcing and recruiting candidates by using databases, social media, etc.

  • Assist hiring managers with screening candidates, resumes, job applications, and phone screens.

  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy of personnel records and databases; act as the subject matter expert for all HRIS and benefit systems.

  • Respond to inquiries related to policies, benefits, and leave administration as necessary.

  • Coordinate the record keeping and maintenance of human resources records.

  • Update organizational reports such as dashboards, headcount reports, organizational charts, and other information and tools.

  • Assist in annual compliance reporting and labor postings.

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new programs in HR, talent management, and employment law.

  • Understanding of Mac Papers + Packaging policies and procedures as it relates to HR operations.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of various HR projects and programs.

  • Agility to flex responsibilities as role evolves.

  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related fields.

  • 2+ years Human Resources experience with a focus in HR administration and recruiting.

  • Previous experience working in Human Resources Administration including benefits, leave of absence and payroll.

  • Strong ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy, using good judgment, discretion, and professionalism.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including formal presentations.

  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.

  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.

  • A positive, "can do" attitude.

  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.

  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Work Environment
  • Employee works primarily in an office environment, and the noise level is usually quiet.
