The Impact You'll Make in this Role

The successful candidate will be Solventums Global Computer Hardware Lead, providing strategic direction and support for End User Computing platforms. These primarily include PC and Mac hardware and their peripherals, and can extend into additional areas such as mobile phones, tablets, RF scanning guns, Zebra printers, HP Office Printers, etc.

As a Computer Hardware SME, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Maintaining the EUC product lifecycle, buylists and configuration standards.

  • Introducing creative new technologies and cost optimizations to address evolving business needs

  • Partnering with our internal customers to understand their compute requirements and ensure that our products and services are meeting their business needs.

  • Working with Managed Service Provider (MSP) to maintain operational health of Solventums global client computing fleet (~25k systems) and proactively remediate quality issues

  • Maintaining adherence to global privacy, regulatory and healthcare standards as they relate to hardware configurations

  • Leading Managed Service provider on topics such as hardware testing and validation, troubleshooting, driver / Firmware / BIOS management, lab capabilities and functions, etc

  • Working with sourcing team and 3rd party vendors to ensure our global hardware supply chain is flowing well, and that we are optimized based on where we source direct from supplier, indirect via 3rd parties, lease, buy, etc.

  • Maintain KPI's on overall service and supply chain health.

  • Working with Service Management team and regional IT to maintain health and data quality of the Hardware Asset Management inventory

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and six (6) years of IT experience.

OR
  • High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and Ten (10) years of IT experience

  • Three (3) years supporting end user computing hardware or software in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include;


  • Experience working in a cross-functional, Agile driven environment

  • Deep technical knowledge of pcs, desktop hardware, current protocols, operating systems and standards

  • Software and Hardware Troubleshooting Experience in provisioning, imaging and deploying devices and device management

  • Experience with modern device management systems such as Microsoft Intune

  • Experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, FDA, etc.)

  • Cross-functional IT expertise (applications, security, network and database infrastructure)

  • Demonstrated ability to create effective and engaging communications

  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills

  • Customer service mindset and sense of urgency

  • Experience working in a large, multi-national corporation

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $106,331 - $129,960, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
