Job Title: Critical Care RN (ICU)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, assessing neurological status, and evaluating response to treatment. Continuously monitor patients' condition and promptly intervene in case of deterioration.
Critical Care Interventions: Administer medications, perform advanced nursing procedures (e.g., intubation, mechanical ventilation management, hemodynamic monitoring), and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members.
Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies within the ICU, including cardiac arrests, respiratory distress, and other life-threatening situations. Participate in code blue and rapid response teams as needed.
Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs, preferences, and rights are respected. Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding their condition, treatment options, and prognosis.
Collaborative Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care discussions.
Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records. Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team through verbal and written reports.
Infection Control and Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections and ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the ICU, such as monitoring and reporting patient outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and safety.
Minimum Requirements:
RN license (GA or Compact)
BLS
ACLS
Experience with direct patient care-preferred
Night shift (645p-715a)
