Job Summary:



The Manager of Enterprise Data Services is responsible for many applications used at Wellstar, and is responsible for many programs. Primary focus for the Enterprise Data Services department is the managing of data between applications and entities for both application and human requirements.
Major Applications include: Epic care Link, Epic Clarity, Epic Cubes, Epic Star/Registries, Epic Care Everywhere, Epic Bridges, Epic Interconnect, Business Objects Enterprise, Axway SFTP, Axway Ad-Hoc, Cloverleaf, Tableau, CareQuality, eHealthway, GaHIN, Medical Device Middleware, SharePoint, eSource.
Major Programs include: Interoperability, Integration, Reporting Services, Data Warehouse, Analytics, Wellstar Clinical Partners, Population Health, Secured File Transfers, Acquisition Conversions, Affiliated Provider Support, Meaningful Use, MACRA/MIPS, Collaboration, Web Services.
The Manager of Enterprise Data Services, is a healthcare IT professional that leads the planning, design,
Implementation and effective use of EMR application (EPIC), along with other applications, and tools necessary to support WellStar Health System (WHS) entities and our affiliated communities at the Enterprise level.
The Manager of Enterprise Data Services serves as champion for technology adoption with the involvement, education and support of operations in all Wellstar technology efforts. Works in partnership with the IT leadership team to ensure that technology and solutions supports WHS program efforts and integrate effectively with WHS IT services. Leads the efforts of the Enterprise Data Services team to provide expertise in areas of technology, to ensure optimal utilization of the applications that are provided.
The Manager Enterprise Data Services works closely with project leaders, Operational Leaders, TPA Vendors and other Information Technology team members to design, build and implement clinical, revenue, and supporting applications for the WellStar Health System. This role has responsibility for staff training, development, mentoring, and motivation. In addition, the role is key to integration of new processes and software across all operational settings both within Wellstar, and within our external healthcare community.
This role requires demonstrated strong leadership, project management, full system lifecycle experience, hands-on approach, and results oriented skills in a fast paced, dynamic environment. This position requires demonstrated success in large-scale process change across multiple business functions.



Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:



Management of Enterprise Data Services
- Ensure that the technical requirements that are necessary to keep the project on track are understood, clearly communicated, and executed on time.
- Maintain close communication with the Director, Enterprise Data Services, with the operational leaders in areas that you support, other managers and directors within information technology, TPA Vendors and system representatives
- Manages your applications, programs and resources by establishing measurable results.
- Manages all phases of the IT project delivery life cycle and provides high level and individual support
- Acts as a liaison between the application team, the technical team, vendors and operations.
- Assists in the development of project-specific work plans, task sequencing, and the extent to which tasks can be performed concurrently.
- Coordinates; evaluates performance; sets goals of your application team.
- Ability to coordinate and integrate project activities across multiple areas
- Identifies and manages risk factors associated with your applications, and programs during implementation, optimization and support.
- Develop, communicate, and manage the IT environment strategy. 40% Provides on-going project management and status reporting at all levels.
- Develops, tracks and executes project plan and related budget if applicable.
- Defines and documents high-level business requirements.
- Manages large projects and resources by establishing measurable results.
- Provides on-going project management and status reporting at all levels.
- Manages resources by coordinating across individual projects and regions to ensure adequate resources and are available and delivery commitments are met.
- Manages and escalates issues.
- Manages the Scope and Change Management Process for all applications to include implementation, optimization and support special updates (SU's) and upgrades.
- Ability to use negotiation skills to achieve outcomes around issues, scope, schedule, costs/budget and resources.
- Sustains strong ongoing relationships with client sponsors, operations, and senior management during IT Projects.
- Standardizes and monitors the project management methodologies.
- Reviews and monitors project status and prepares periodic performance reports to leadership.

- Operations and Maintenance - Supports and maintains WellStar Epic/IT application software to insure that organizational business needs are met.
- Maintains current knowledge of the applications that you support, maintain your certifications (Epic NVT) and other applications certifications.
- Financial Management - Provides input into budget preparation and forecast.
- Customer Satisfaction - Acts collaboratively in assessing, evaluating and providing IT application support services within and across organizational business units; have organizational awareness, ensures collaboration within, and across, all departmental boundaries, strengthening existing relationships and alliances, and forming new ones, so that customer needs are met. 10% Leadership and Management
- Manages and leads a team of support personnel that provide support to all IT applications, programs, and events.
- Monitors managerial performance of Analysts reporting to you and provide coaching, counseling as indicated for improved performance. Participates in all Human Resources functions such as hiring, payroll, Reviews, training, etc.
- Creates an environment of mutual trust, respect, empowerment, and practice ethical leadership that will give our teams the environment to maximize their success.
- Creates accountability for employee morale and customer satisfaction
- Ensure that working team members are certified within their application (Epic, Cloverleaf, Axway, etc.) and have received necessary training. 10%



Required Minimum Education:



Bachelor's Degree Required and
Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Preferred and
Epic training and certification required, other training and certifications may be required depending on the applications that are being managed Required

    Required Minimum Experience:



    Minimum 5 years related work experience in applied areas of health care. Required and
    Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role Required and
    Minimum 3 years managing implementations of large-scale, complex, multi-disciplined, cross-functional and highly visible projects/programs and cross organizational teams Required and
    Minimum 5 years in one or more of the following technical areas: Microsoft SQL Relational, or Analytical Database implementations, SQL Programming, SSIS/ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) programming, Crystal Reports, or other reporting services tools, SharePoint administration and programming, HL7 message structure, Cloverleaf programing including Transactional Control Language (TCL), other EMR applications, analytics presentation tools such as Tableau or Qlik, network protocol between systems including IP addresses, security certificates, and firewalls, CCD/XML formats, Secure File transmission protocols (SFTP), healthcare quality measurement programs, healthcare workflows Required and
    Significant project management experience with proven ability to manage, execute, control and achieve closure of large, complex projects Required and
    Experience with business process redesign, benefits realization and project planning in a healthcare environment Required and
    Possess a strong background in healthcare with large software application design and implementation projects Required and
    Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with operational departments and cross-functional teams, and to deliver projects on time and on budget. Must be able to work with individuals from various backgrounds Required and

    Required Minimum Skills:



    Excellent Project Management skills including practical usage of Microsoft Office Products. Must possess strong communication, presentation and customer relation skills.
    Experience managing large complex projects and has strong project management skills.
    Demonstrates extensive experience in client relationship management.
    Must be deeply experienced in Project Management Methodologies.
    Excellent analytical ability and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and other IT staff.
    Demonstrated effectiveness interfacing and negotiating with clients, internal customers and vendors.
    Leadership and ability to motivate others.
