Summary

The Student Leadership Assistant Director will design and manage leadership development programs based on social change and inclusive leadership models. They will oversee student leadership programming, including annual leadership retreats, student organization management, and coordinate campus partnership programs (Residential Learning Communities, My Sister's Keeper, Take Back the Night, etc.). They will create metrics for and engage in continuous assessment of Student Leadership and Engagement programs, manage budgets for student leadership programs, supervise one graduate assistant, and support a full-time Student Engagement coordinator. This position will coordinate the annual Newcomb Institute awards and student leadership recognition at Under the Oaks. The Student Leadership Assistant Director will strengthen the diversity of Newcomb Institute and student programming on campus by working with underrepresented student groups. They will help promote students' campus, community, and civic engagement, and create an environment of respect and awareness of equity, inclusion and diversity. The Student Leadership Assistant Director will support the work of the Director of Student Leadership and Engagement to ensure strong program/project coordination and communication between Newcomb Institute and our external campus partners. They will support the expansion of external relationships with colleges and universities in Louisiana, as well as with community organizations and academic institutes focused on gender equity.

Required Qualifications

* Master's Degree and 2 years' directly-related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

* 3-5 years of experience developing and implementing leadership development programs and workshops. * Master's Degree in Higher Education, Leadership Development, or closely related field.* Knowledge of student leadership development theory and models, as well as student learning pedagogies and assessment* Skills in effective training and development* Knowledge of best practices, self-awareness, and thoughtful practice of culturally relevant leadership learning and teaching methods.
