Working in the Bachelor of Applied Science Department, this professor will teach courses in the behavioral healthcare program. They will also participate in curricular assessment, student advising, and committee service. This position will regularly work with colleagues, staff, and administrators across the campus; and may engage the community through public events or student outreach. The position begins in the fall quarter 2024. We encourage applications from faculty with demonstrated experience and expertise in supporting, sustaining, and serving people from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, racial, ability, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Courses at Centralia College are taught days and evenings in a variety of modalities- including fully in-person, hybrid, hyflex (virtual), and online. The successful applicant may be asked to teach in each of these modalities. The behavioral healthcare program is currently structured as a hybrid program offered two evenings per week beginning at 5:00pm.Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities for this position include:

    Teach assigned upper division courses in behavioral healthcare, lower division courses related to behavioral healthcare fields and student success classes to a diverse student body in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and onlineAdvise students in order to provide academic support and guidanceEngage in curriculum and program development and assessmentParticipate in professional development activities and remain current in their disciplineAttend faculty and committee meetingsHold weekly office hoursWork collaboratively with colleagues across disciplinesPerform other duties as assigned and in accordance with the Faculty Negotiated Agreement
Qualifications
    Master's degree in Human Services, Mental Health, Counseling, or closely related field AND 2 years of relevant work experience in a clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
    Doctoral degree in Human Services, Mental Health, Counseling, or closely related fieldLicensed mental health counselorTeaching experienceOnline teaching experienceExperience performing curricular assessmentDemonstrated ability to serve the needs of students who represent a broad spectrum of ages, abilities, ethnicities, cultural, and educational backgroundsAwareness of own cultural values and biasesDemonstrated ability to collaborate with peers
Conditions of Employment

This is a full-time, tenure track faculty appointment with employment expected to begin Fall Quarter 2024, subject to state legislative funding. The State of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for all state employees.

Compensation


Placement on the established faculty salary schedule is dependent upon education and teaching experience.The salary range for a 177-day contract is $67,204 - $100,775.
