●Academic Tutors will be responsible for either one of the following or both during the duration of the course they are assigned to:
  -Host individual or small group (1 to 5 students) academic tutoring sessions to OMS-I students for the course they are leading. Academic Tutors will facilitate up to 1.5 hours of academic tutoring per week (three 30-minute sessions).
  -Host drop-in academic coaching sessions (similar to open office hours) once a week for two hours in a classroom or learning lab on campus.
●Prepare for each session:
  -Individual/Small Group Academic Tutoring Session - Academic Tutors will be reimbursed for up to 30 minutes of preparation time for each 30-minute Academic Tutoring session.
  -Drop-In Academic Tutoring Session - Academic Tutors will be reimbursed for up to 2 hours of preparation time for each 2-hour Academic Tutoring Session.
●Meet with OAS staff, course faculty, and other Supplemental Instruction Program staff as needed to help develop coaching plans for Academic Tutoring sessions.
●Academic Tutors will work an average of 3-7 hours per week for the duration of the course based on the course schedule and the schedule of SI activities developed by the Office of Academic Success. Academic tutors will not work more than 10 hours per week.
●Academic Tutors will be required to attend training throughout the semester as scheduled by the Office of Academic Success. Special Instructions to Applicants Education & Experience Position Qualifications:


Position Requirements:

●Current OSU-COM OMS-II student
●Previously passed all required medical school pre-clinical courses with a letter grade of B or higher
●No prior history of probation while attending OSU-COM
●Ability to develop and manage a tutoring session (including Zoom and in-person classrooms)
●Display a positive and professional attitude
●Demonstrate an ability to work well within one-on-one and group settings, and to motivate students at various levels of academic performance.
●Ability to hold scheduled sessions
●Previous tutoring or SI experience helpful, but not required
