Design Review: Review designs of custom conveyance equipment and systems, evaluating them against application requirements, customer specifications, and design standards.
Engineering Procedures: Develop new and reassess existing engineering procedures and practices to efficiently meet internal Operations and external stakeholder needs.
Feedback and Collaboration: Provide feedback to ETO Mechanical Engineers on known design issues and learnings from Operations team feedback. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
Scope of Work Review: Review Scope of Work documents for accuracy, lead time assessment, and capacity planning for new equipment orders.
Engineering Change Orders: Execute engineering change orders (ECO) as required by customers or quality issues.
Drawing Preparation: Prepare assembly and customer-facing drawings for conveyance equipment and systems.
Operations Collaboration: Lead feedback sessions with key stakeholders in Operations to build trust, understanding, and problem-solving across teams.
Commissioning and Support: Collaborate cross-departmentally to commission existing equipment in the field, including providing spare parts bills of materials and diagnosing mechanical issues on customer site visits.
Product Improvement: Collaborate with Product Engineering to improve mechanical designs globally and support large-scale equipment platforms.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a focus on conveyance solutions.
Design Engineering: Strong experience in designing custom conveyance equipment and systems according to application requirements and customer specifications.
Engineering Procedures: Ability to develop and improve engineering procedures and practices to meet operational needs.
Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Change Management: Experience in executing engineering change orders (ECO) and managing customer-driven or quality-related changes.
Drawings and Documentation: Proficient in preparing assembly and customer-facing drawings.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design issues and operational challenges.
Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, AutoDesk Revit, PTC Creo, PTC Windchill, SolidWorks, SolidWorks EPDM, and Microsoft Office.
Certifications: AutoDesk Inventor for Experienced 3D CAD Users Certification, Engineer in Training (NCEES) certification or equivalent.
Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
