Role Overview



We are seeking a Full Time 40-hours Lead Medical Assistant to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:30am- 5:00pm with one later shift during the week from 9:30am- 6:00pm. We can work with the candidate's schedule for that one later shift!


Our Lead Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Our lead Medical Assistant will be dedicated to clinical support as well as being the primary point of contact for our two other medical assistants.



Responsibilities



  • Communicates any change in staffing to both the Practice Manager and Administrative assistant

  • Reviews MA responsibilities and performance with the Practice Manager.

  • Orders office and medical supplies in Peoplesoft.

  • Maintains inventory of immunizations and checks expiration date.

  • Obtains prior authorizations for tests/medications/provision of care, as needed.

  • Provides assistance to providers with office procedures.

  • Coordinates pre-visit preparations including addressing the special needs of patients (i.e. comfort measures, communication, and other appropriate issues), ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visit, organization of paper chart, etc.

  • Escorts patients to the exam rooms and take vital signs.

  • Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to: injections and EKG's.

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program, nursing student, or Paramedic required.

  • National Medical Assistant Certification required.

  • CPR training required.

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant Required

  • Epic experience preferred

  • Primary care experience preferred, specifically in Primary Care
