Operating and maintaining flow cytometers, including daily QC, daily/monthly cleaning, and record keeping
Data management
Consulting with facility researchers regarding instrument troubleshooting, panel design and data analysis
Continuing education in new cytometry methods and facility specific protocols
Routine laboratory tasks such as:
General cleaning and organizing of work areas and computer stations
Monitoring and ordering supplies
Waste disposal/recycling
Updating and editing of lab documents
Responding to emails sent to the facility account
Qualifications
Skills Required:
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Shows interest in acquiring new skills
Problem solving
Interacts respectfully with other facility staff, facility users, and all MGB staff to respond in an appropriate and timely manner
Remains thoughtful and calm in unexpected or stressful situations
Experience & Education Required:
0-3yr cytometry experience
Requires a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with a scientific background; Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences preferred
Experience with both PC and MAC computer systems
Familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Customer service experience preferred
