Our client is a top 10 ENR General Contractor that specializes in water and other critical infrastructure and over the past decade, they have grown tremendously, including projects over $350 million. They currently have a backlog of projects over 1 billion dollars.
Your new role
Develop Accurate Estimates:
Create precise and timely electrical construction estimates.
These estimates serve as the foundation for competitive bids and proposals.
Clients include General Contractors, Owners, Developers, and end-users.
Analyze and Interpret:
Thoroughly examine detailed drawings and specifications.
Understand project requirements and constraints.
Value-Engineered Alternatives:
Identify and price alternatives to original plans and specifications.
Optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
Budget Pricing:
Generate budget estimates based on schematic drawings and narrative descriptions.
Drafting and Communication:
Prepare scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
Foster positive relationships with clients and vendors.
Leadership and Development:
Lead the Estimating Department.
Mentor junior personnel.
Maintain and enhance computerized estimating programs and databases.
Deadline Management:
Work efficiently under time pressure.
Remain composed and calm.
Change-Orders and Handoffs:
Handle change-orders during ongoing projects.
Facilitate smooth transitions from estimating to operations by clearly communicating detailed scopes of work, specifications, and job-specific conditions.
Quality Assurance:
Review estimates created by others for accuracy and completeness.
Company Standards:
Contribute to defining and communicating company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Working knowledge of Accubid Anywhere utilizing Live Count estimating software is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in electrical power, instrumentation/controls, schematics and control diagrams.
Experience in Concrete structures and Wastewater Treatement Plants
What you'll get in return
The salary range for this position is between $160,000 - $210,000 DOE
