Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Business Intelligence Manager that can do a 3-day hybrid approach onsite in our Farmington Hills office. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. 

Summary Statement

Leads Business Intelligence delivery in support of the business strategy and outcomes.   Manages the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) activities, including Amerisure’s corporate reporting, insights, and analytics. Facilitates the BI and analytics community across Amerisure’s business units.  

Essential Tasks/Major Duties


  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Assist in the delivery and maintenance of a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision making both pre-defined and ad hoc analysis and insight generation.

  • Leads delivery of business performance reporting.

  • Assesses current complex BI technical environments and makes recommendations on future state improvements.

  • Support the delivery of the long-term Business Intelligence and Data Strategies’ roadmap.

  • Partners with Security and Data Governance to secure and ensure high-quality data.

  • Leads delivery and adoption of business/user self-service reporting capabilities.

  • Build and nurture a productive, collaborative partnership with Amerisure’s internal business customers, strategizing and delivering solutions for them.

  • Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow, quality, and presentation in order to improve accuracy, accessibility, viability, and value.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or related field.

  • A minimum 10 years of IT experience, with five (5) years of business intelligence experience with one (1) year in a leadership role.

  • Insurance or financial services industry experience.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and data visualization techniques for creating and interfacing reports in a self-service environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Familiarity with and use of tools and concepts used in data warehouse / business intelligence environments such as Master Data Management (MDM), data architecture, ETL/ELT, data quality and cleansing tools, query/reporting tools, OLAP, data mining, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading Agile delivery teams.

  • Ability to partner with and manage the performance of vendors, contractors and/or third parties.

  • Ability to adapt and learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
