UTHealth Houston is seeking a Research Assistant I/II to join their team of professionals in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and Orthopedic Surgery investigating bacteriophage treatment of bone infections. The Research Assistant I/II will learn to prepare and analyze bacterial biofilms and bacteriophage, manufacture and optimize biodegradable microspheres, conduct experiments, analyze data, assist with laboratory maintenance and record keeping, and more.

Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
