Position: Principal Product Manager

Duties: Define long-term vision and strategy for a product family by capitalizing on technology, business, and domain expertise; providing thought leadership on internal and external best practices and standards to drive decision making; conducting benchmark studies and competitive assessments; providing expertise on the market and competition; predicting market opportunities; and setting objectives and key performance indicators for products. Develop and enhance a product family by developing product roadmaps; gathering, developing, and documenting requirements; considering technical architecture and implementation; collecting and analyzing customer and product data; turning customer insights into actionable priorities and initiatives; defining user and business acceptance criteria and roll out strategy; monitoring risks and dependencies; seeking patents to protect innovative ideas and products; and prioritizing product backlog. Craft solutions to business challenges by communicating requirements to key partners (for example, business leaders, User Experience, Engineering, and Analytics); engaging with key partners to deliver and support initiatives; communicating status and insights related to product performance; and securing buy-in from executive-level leadership. Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events. This position supervises two employees (one Staff Product Manager and one Sr. Manager I, Product Management).




Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Business Administration, or related area and 3 years of experience in product management; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Business Administration, or related area and 6 years of experience in product management.



Skills required: Experience aligning product strategy with overall strategy of business across an entire product domain. Experience prioritizing roadmaps across multiple products and securing resources and cross-functional alignment. Experience driving decision-making and alignment across multiple cross-functional teams. Experience driving product discovery by identifying customer and business goals, working cross-functionally to analyze product feature options across an entire product domain, and driving alignment on proposals. Experience working with design and UX research to map customer journeys and build solutions for customer needs. Experience working with engineering teams to understand product tradeoffs for various technical approaches and making recommendations to leadership. Experience conducting user research with competitive websites to gain customer-level insights on the strengths and weaknesses of the competition. Experience reviewing and aligning on KPIs for the domain of products to monitor and alert partners on pattern shifts within data. Experience designing software product experimentation with A/B testing based on customer hypotheses and leveraging data from tests to inform decision-making. Salary Range: $163,571/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
